Summary:

Free Episode of Witnesses - A Tax Collector's Invitation

A Summer of Celebration
2016 marks 8 years that we've been running this website. We don't always do a lot for every one of our anniversaries, but this year we are!
Leading up to and after our birthday, July 30, we'll be doing several special events and projects including some contests, interviews, and giving a new look to the blog! This is only a partial list. We have ideas for some other stuff, but this is what we know we'll be doing for sure. Stick with us all summer long and make sure to subscribe to the blog and follow us on our social networks so you won't miss anything. When you see the hashtag #AIOBSummerCelebration, you'll know it's a part of our anniversary celebration.

Who can enter?
Anyone in the continental United States can enter. However, if you have won one of our contests in the past, you will not be eligible to enter and/or win. Only one entry per household is allowed. If you are under 16 years of age, please get your parents' permission before you enter.
How do I enter?
All you have to do is send us an email at adventuresinodysseyblog[@]gmail.com. In the email, tell us what you would like for us to do for our birthday celebration this summer. We'll also need your first and last name. We will only use your first name and initial of your last name in the announcement of the winners, if you win. Make sure to put Dropbox Contest in the subject line so we know it is an entry. If you don't have an email address of your own, you may ask your parents to send us your entry for you.
When is the deadline?
You have until May 20th 12:00 AM Central Time to send us your entry. Any email after that will not be eligible to win.
How will the winners be decided?
We'll put all the names of everyone who entered (who are eligible) in a hat and blindly pick 3 names out of it. These 3 people will each win a copy of The Dropbox.
When will the winners be announced?
We will announce the winners shortly after the deadline. Then, we will contact each winner by email to let them know they won and ask for their mailing address so we can send them their prize Don't worry. We won't use your email or mailing address for any other purpose but to get your prize to you. However, if we do not get a response from you within 48 hours, we will draw another name from the other entries to replace yours so someone else can have a chance to win.

Farewell, Jack: RIP Alan Young
It is with heavy hearts that we must share the news of Alan Young's passing. On May 19th, at the age of 96, Alan Young left this world. Alan was known the world over as Wilbur Post from the popular show, Mister Ed. He was also known as the voice of Scrooge McDuck for Disney.
However, for us Odyssey fans, he was the beloved actor who brought the role of Jack Allen to life. Jack, along with Jason, first appeared on the show after Hal Smith died. He brought the grandfatherly and wise persona that was similar to Whit's, but in a way that was all his own. Alan played Jack in over 80 episodes. He also played other roles such as Mystic Mountain Lion and Donovan, Jason old NSA boss.
After an interview, Alan mentioned that the part of his career that he was most proud of was Odyssey. AIO certainly impacted his life as he himself impacted the show and its millions of listeners.
It goes without saying that we will all miss him dearly. Rest in peace, Alan. We love you.

...And Goodbye, Joanne: RIP Janet Waldo
Janet Waldo died this past Sunday at the age of 96. For animation fans, she is most known for her role as Judy Jetson on The Jetsons, as well as other cartoons. However, for all of us, she was the voice of Jack Allen's wife, Joanne Woodston- Allen.
Janet first appeared on Odyssey in the episode titled Wonderwold. In that episode and subsequent ones, she played Maureen Hodges, Lawrence Hodges' mother. Janet later changed roles and started playing (then) Joanne Woodston in The Decision. Her character and Jack Allen were later married in, For Whom The Wedding Bells Toll, Part 3. Janet appeared in over 30 episodes, with 28 of them having Joanne in them. We last heard her in Home Again, Part 2. That episode also contained Alan Young's last appearance on AIO.
Our prayers are with her family at this difficult time. We miss you, Janet. Thanks for the wonderful memories!

There's still a lot we don't know about Album 62, but more info will probably come out after the release of Album 61. As always, we'll update this post as more info is found.
2017 is AIO's 30th anniversary and it looks like there will be some stellar episodes to celebrate that. We know Focus on the Family is working on some other big events for Odyssey next year as part of its birthday, including a cruise!
